A MESSAGE FROM FATHER DAVID
Fall River falcons youth football clothing drive.
Hello Father Dave it’s KP.
Good morning, my name is KP I am the 12u Fall River Falcons youth football team coach. I have the upmost honor of being able to coach American youth football making an impact in these young talented players with guiding them in the right direction on and off the field. This past season, it was brought to my attention just how many of the athletes go home after practice or a game and with a lack of necessities. Food is scarce, clean clothing that fits is limited, blankets are a luxury and the only time they feel comfortable and safe is when they’re playing football. There is one boy in particular who has touched many of our hearts last year and this year. This particular athlete gives his all on and off the field, he is kind and considerate, and amazingly athletically talented. After learning a little more about him during the season, it came to my attention that Fall River Falcons was his only outlet. Team dinners were a way to escape, getting to borrow a sweatshirt from a coach during practice while the weather started to get colder, all of this was important to him as once he goes home he doesn’t get those type of luxuries.
I began this journey with him in mind. It started with just a motherly instinct to make sure he was fed and clothed. Now it’s turned into something more than that. Many of our Falcons athletes are in the same position and the Fall River Falcons family is coming together to collect clothing, shoes, blankets, and hygiene items along with gift cards to be able to give some of these kids something to be able to go home and feel safe.
Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and contribution to making sure our youth athletes and their families are warm and protected this upcoming winter.
