Saint Carlo Acutis﻿

Saint Carlo Acutis was born in London on May 3, 1991, to an Italian family and grew up in Milan. From a young age, he had a deep love for Jesus and the Eucharist. He attended Mass frequently, prayed the Rosary, served as a catechist, and looked for practical ways to help people in need.

Carlo also had a gift for computers. He used his skills to create a website documenting Eucharistic miracles from around the world, hoping to share his faith through the technology of his time. In October 2006, he was diagnosed with leukemia and died on October 12, at just 15 years old. Pope Leo XIV canonized him on September 7, 2025. 

Carlo is popularly regarded as a patron and role model for young people and those who use the internet. This is a popular association rather than a formal patronage officially assigned by the Church. 

Saint Carlo reminds us that holiness can grow through ordinary things: prayer, kindness, using our gifts well, and keeping Jesus at the center of our lives. We might ask ourselves how we can use our own talents—and even our time online—to encourage others, serve those in need, and share what is good.

REFLECTION

Monday of the Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time﻿
My Lord and Messiah, I believe You are here, in our midst, calling us to repent and to be faithful to the Gospel. Please open my eyes to see You and my heart to profess You. May I never be a part of the evil in this generation, one that professes You with their lips but ignores Your commands. Jesus, I trust in You.

While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them, “This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah. Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.” Luke 11:29–30
